Public transport,
now on demand.
Adapta specializes in smart route optimization for Canadian municipalities. Partnering with local governments, they brought us in to make rural public transport as seamless as booking an Uber.

The Adapta team found us through our previous work and reached out to share their vision: to build an Uber-like platform, but significantly simpler and more accessible, for drivers and riders in remote Canadian suburbs.

Setting up Canada-Singapore calls was easy since we were just a flip of AM and PM. A few calls focused on Adapta's vision got us aligned on the key deliverables.
Public transport can be challenging for people with reduced accessibility, and on-demand transport is often even tougher. Our goal with Adapta was to make it easy and delightful for everyone.
People in remote areas often struggle with last-mile transport, whether it’s the infrequent bus to the main train station or the pricey on-demand taxi. Demand-responsive transit aims to solve this issue.
Tech-challenged users often struggle with modern on-demand transport apps. Our goal was to close that gap by creating a deceptively simple interface that works for everyone.
Government design systems are great at getting accessibility and simplicity right, designed to work for everyone. We've taken inspiration from some of the best examples from around the world.
After ideation, research and
rapid prototyping, we decided to build a rider app
We set out to do more than just another ride-sharing app — to #GetGrandmaMoving. Custom options, whitelabel solution, and built-in accessibility, all baked in.
Our goal was to ensure anyone, regardless of ability, could use the app. By following WCAG 2.0 Level AA guidelines, we built a seamless, accessible experience for all.
High-contrast visuals and adjustable text sizes to improve readability
Screen reader compatibility for visually impaired users
Simple, intuitive navigation that works for all motor abilities

I first became aware of Quinence through their educational technical course: Modern Fullstack. After evaluating and observing the quality of the course, Adapta commenced a technical engagement with Ratul and Quinence to build a prototype for a new software product Adapta planned to offer to its clients.
Throughout our engagement with Ratul and his company, I witnessed Ratul's technical leadership and thoughtful management of the project.
They worked through ambiguity to deliver a product meeting our high bar, working diligently to ensure the project's success. Quinence deliveredabove and beyond my expectations, and I would not hesitate to work with them again.
